How to Stop Comparing Myself to Others

Q: I constantly compare myself to others then I feel worthless. How can I stop doing this?

A: We all have a natural tendency to compare ourselves to others. It can be alright if you look at similarities and differences. At some point, it can be productive if it’s a healthy competition and it motivates you. However, in your case, you admit to feeling worthless. In the greater scheme of things, we are all equal. No one is any better than another. You are your own unique self and you want to focus on one thing, YOU! You at your best. Some ways you can do this would be to focus on all you do have rather than what you don’t have. Focus on what you are grateful for.  Rather than focusing on lack, focus on your abundance.

Be happy with what others have. There is enough to go around. You can learn from others and their positive attributes. You can admire others and that feels so much better than being jealous or envious. Remember that what you admire can become a part of your life. What goes around comes around.

Wish others well and you will attract more joy and success.
