A: The first step is to recognize through awareness what unconscious behaviors might be happening in your life. By paying attention, you can become aware of what habits you want to change to raise your level of consciousness. If you find you are preoccupied with what’s going on with the thoughts in your head, it makes it challenging to enjoy the present moment which is a state of higher consciousness.
When you are aware of the present moment and beauty surrounding you, you are conscious. Spend more time listening to others and focusing on what they are saying versus on your response. Pay attention to how much time you spend listening rather than talking. Let your first step be toward positive change within yourself. Slow down and notice your thoughts. Are they positive or negative? What about your emotions and behavior? When you are mindful of your thoughts and actions, your level of consciousness can only increase.
