Q: Can you describe a co-dependent personality type?
A: A co-dependent personality type can be described as someone who is approval seeking and if in an alcoholic family they can be considered an enabler. Co-dependent folks have few to no boundaries and with being such people-pleasers, they do fester a certain element of anxiety and apprehension mostly being rejection.
To help this personality type, co-dependents can learn to set healthy boundaries; letting someone know how far they can go and how far they will go with them as well. They can also learn to say “NO,” which is a yes for the person who is co-dependent. It may feel a bit strange initially, however, it will get easier and this person will be grateful for learning these skill sets to become healthier.
