Emotionally Pent Up? Here's How to Help Yourself

Q: I am having difficulty feeling any emotional freedom right now. I feel pent up and anxiety-driven. Any tools to help open me up?

A: While you may not see it right now, your life is full of many opportunities, and perhaps now more than ever, this is a wonderful wake-up call to embrace the portals of every emotion you have; every loss, every pain, every stress, every decision for example. How you determine to embrace them is totally up to you.

Yes, these emotions are going to test you, especially now. Yet this time is an opportunity to see them for what they truly are and how they can lead you to emotional freedom. Right now, you have the capacity at any given moment to give and receive. Rather than choosing to be angry and frustrated, live from a more centered place. Learning to work with your emotions is a path to freedom.

It’s also practicing resiliency, learning to bounce back from any adversity. Work on letting go of emotional patterns that no longer serve you. Now more than ever is the time to practice self-love and compassion and compassion for others. Collectively we know we all are faced with challenges. You can reframe any negative emotions into positive ones which will bring you into the joy you want now.

Ask yourself what your lesson is now and how you are learning from it. Just be with your feelings and aim to transform all of the feelings you no longer want. This starts by setting your intention to feed what’s best and most beautiful within you. It all starts within. You can shift to become a more caring and aware individual person who connects with his/her essence which thrives when the stress is shifted to calmness. Practice through balancing our mind, body, emotions, and spirit. By integrating these parts of yourself you will begin to feel whole and the emotional freedom will begin to emerge. Be patient with yourself and know that what you are feeling now has a greater purpose for the greater good.
