I was taught early on to set goals. My message was to always have a goal, so I became good at setting goals and having action steps to help me achieve my goals. I became quite good at this as I am a first born and an achiever. 


When I began learning more about Mindfulness Meditation and being more in the here and now, it resonated with me so I began a meditation practice 20 years ago and have worked more on being in the present moment. This has inspired me to achieve more of a balance of doing and being. We can be right here, right now as the essence of inspiration. Being in the now is a way to reduce anxiety and stress and even some illnesses.


While it’s necessary to plan for the future, we can still practice being in the moment and cultivating this awareness. When I have visions of my future, I use my present moments of knowing with that vision and it keeps me here, moment-by-moment.


In my room I have some sacreds such as crystals, mala beads, photos of loved ones, and a vision board. These are my daily reminders of being inspired, in-spirit, to live in the present and give gratitude for the presence of inspiration in my life. May you be filled with this same gratitude and presence in yours.
